Description

About the Author

Malinda Lo was born in China and moved to the United States as a child. She grew up in Colorado and has since lived in Boston, New York, London, Beijing, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and has master’s degrees from Harvard and Stanford Universities. She now lives in Northern California with her partner and their dog. Ash, her first novel, was a finalist for the William C. Morris YA Debut Award, the Andre Norton Award for YA Fantasy and Science Fiction, and the Lambda Literary Award.   3. Interesting. I hadn’t known much about the book when I first considered putting it on my list of books I’m waiting for really. I have Ash, but didn’t know this was the sequel. Based on the about information I wouldn’t even know they were related if no one mentioned that part.

    Now I wonder what to read first. This is why I don’t like having the prequel after the other book is published. We sort of know where the character is going to end up before reading it then. Sure, it can be a great story still and have many surprises. But if say it’s a love story and the sequel, which was published first is a love story with a different love interest, then we pretty much know the result of the prequel one. Even though they might be the main character in one and the love interest in the other, it’s still a tough call.

  10. Huntress is actually a prequel to Ash. They take place in the same world, but Huntress is taking place way way way before Ash. So you don’t actually have to read Ash first.
