Waiting on Wednesday: Dead is a Battlefield by Marlene Perez @HMHCo @MarPerez

January 11, 2012 By Mary

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week’s pre-publication “can’t-wait-to-read” selection is:

Ok, Where are my flower girls?  No mention of Daisy and her  sisters in the description.  Now, I am really dying to read this one.  And who is Jessica? I can’t remember since it seems like forever since I read the last installment in this series.

Book Description

Series: Dead Is | Publication Date: March 6, 2012
Jessica Walsh is starting her freshman year at Nightshade High and trying to forget
about the tragic events surrounding her brother’s graduation. She wants to have a normal
high school experience. But that’s easier said than done in Nightshade.
There’s a new guy at school who seems to be turning the girls into lovesick zombies.
And Jessica has other worries—like her crush on a cute but moody lead singer,
and the mysterious tattoo that appeared on her arm one day that lets her know whenever
there is trouble brewing. Jessica learns she’s a Virago, a woman warrior chosen to
fight evil whenever it threatens her hometown. But does a lowly freshman really have
what it takes to keep Nightshade safe?

OOOH, I haven’t heard about this one, but it sounds good. And I love the cover. It’s simple, but the heart twisted in the cords is adorable. 🙂

    Great pick!

How is it that I’ve not heard of this series before? It sounds incredibly awesome. And, I am in love with the school’s name- Nightshade High?! So cool!

I’m definitely adding this series to my TBR list!
