    I love horror and general creepiness so it is hard to choose! I just read Grady Hendrix’s Horrorstör and it was so unique, funny and scary!

    When I was a kid I loved an anthology – STRANGELY ENOUGH. I have searched and searched for it over the years but have never found it. It was a fantastic collection of all the ghost/horror/scary stories kids over 30 yrs grew up hearing.

    I really like Mary Higgins Clark…does that count as spooky or scary? Some of them are pretty scary. I don’t have a favorite of hers, I like them all.

    My all time favorite is The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I read it when I was in elementary school and have loved scary movies/books ever since!

    The first book that ever really scared me was The Shining so I think it remains my favorite for nostalgia reasons lol

    Honestly I don’t do scary much but there are lots of books with scary parts, for example Harry Potter, or the Throne of Glass series, and I could just run on and on about my favorite books that have scary parts to them but honestly I love all of them

    I read a true story murder, that took place in a nearby city where I live. During that time, I was going to school in that area, which really freaked me out. Never See Them Again by M. William Phelps, kept me awake late at night. The scariest stories for me, are the real ones. And, that one is truly scary!

    Ok I gotta go with a classic here and say DRACULA BY BRAM STOKER. but I also just read and adored THE FALL BY BETHANY GRIFFIN. it was so so spooky!!

    One of the boos that gave me the chills was the fifth wave, i think that even is its not a scary book, it tells us a story that we all, like humanity, are scared: the invasion, and the way its written its awesome.

    I really am curious what these paranormal scary books that people are talking about. To be honest, I haven’t found a spooky book in years. Always just too easy to stop reading unlike website screamers or video game jump scares.

    You may not consider it scary, but when I was a kid I was terrified of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It was the scene where Grandpa arrives in Vulgaria, I was certain something terrible was going to happen to him!
