Henry awoke to the sound of a girl crying. It was a pretty sound, melodic in a way, and he sort of wanted it to go on like a song repeated perpetually. When he cracked his eyes open, he couldn’t really see who was crying, though, and when he opened his eyes all the way, she stopped.
