Beautiful. Perfect. Dead.
In the peaceful seaside town of Cape Bonita, wicked secrets and lies are hidden just beneath the surface. But all it takes is one tragedy for them to be exposed.
The most popular girls in school are turning up dead, and Penelope Malone is terrified she’s next. All the victims so far have been linked to Penelope—and to a boy from her physics class. The one she’s never really noticed before, with the rumored dark past and a brooding stare that cuts right through her.
There’s something he isn’t telling her. But there’s something she’s not telling him, either.
Everyone has secrets, and theirs might get them killed.

Hey hey, you caught me at a good moment. Post-Christmas and a fresh new year always puts me in the mood to clean and purge my house. And my office is no exception. It becomes the dumping ground during the Christmas season. Prior to presents being wrapped, my office looks like a shipping and receiving department. With stacks of boxes and a pile of receipts scattered all over the place.
But now the Christmas mess is gone, and here is my desk in all of its (semi) clean glory. Yes, you can see the stack of papers on my little file box thingy to the left. And there are still a bunch of coupons in the yellow bowl right next to my iMac, plus Post-Its for those moments when genius (ha ha) strikes.
My iMac is where the magic happens. I bought that bad boy a year ago, kicking off 2017 right with a brand new computer since my old one was getting super laggy. Plus, it helps to hae such a huge screen so I can see everything. Staring at a computer all day for years on end really does a number on my eyes.
You can see all the pens and pencils I have to the right, and the little cat dish my daughter made me a few years ago in her ceramics class. The Mammoth Lakes sticker in the paperclip dish (I have a thing for little cups and dishes, can you tell LOL) – we went to Mammoth Lakes for the first time this past September and it was beautiful.
My planner is to the left and I vow to use that thing religiously this year. I need to stay on top of my work schedule and I must stay focused. I’m hoping to have a very productive 2018 so my planner will help me organize everything. That and my Teux Deux app that you can see on my iMac screen. Oh, how I love my Teux Deux app. It allows me to keep a running to do list and I can go back through all the years that I’ve kept it if I need to find something old. They don’t even pay me to endorse them but I LOVE TEUX DEUX SO MUCH. Ahem.
In the right bottom corner is my desk heater. It is so cold right now (fine I’m in California and we don’t have severe cold like everyone else does, I get it) and there’s nothing better than having hot air blast on me in the morning when I’m freezing and still half asleep. Though sometimes that hot air makes me wanna take a nap…
That’s pretty much all the exciting stuff on my desk. Hope you enjoyed this little glimpse of my workspace!
