REVIEW
I love books like this for the pre-school set – it is one of those books that have simple, rhyming words that are very attractive to young children and the images to go along with the story are bright and colorful. I remember this phase of childhood so well and two – three year olds are always full of questions. This book gives the reader a chance to ask the child questions and get them to think of a response. They may not know the names of everything they see but that is part of the fun. You can encourage vocabulary building in a simple way.
My name is ILHAM which is pronounced the way its spelt. As a kid, I hated my name and did get teased for being a “ham”. But now that I’m an adult, I love the unique-ness and the strength that my name conveys. I definitely have not met another Ilham for sure.
It means inspiration in Arabic, by the way.
I live with my 2 sons & my husband and my 20lb kitty, Beauty, within a house thats booby-trapped with Lego. My crazy family are my inspiration for story writing and story-telling, And I love to travel with them as well and earning new memories through adventures abroad, some of which I have documented in this blog.

INTERVIEW
1. What is on your nightstand?
I have a whole bunch of books on my nightstand including Malala Yousefzai’s memoir and Jane Austen’s ‘Northanger Abbey’
2. What author would you totally fan?
JK Rowling!
3. What makes you cringe?
People chewing gum loudly and with lips smacking. Yuck!
4. Do you obsessively plot out each point or just go with the flow?
I go with the flow. I have an idea and main plot points and begin writing. I tried to do the whole having a notebook and plotting out everything from detailed character histories and sketches to every major and minor thing that happens in the story. I found myself losing interest pretty quickly and now that story sits languishing somewhere in my USB.
5. Is there a word you love to use?
Well…I won’t mention it as it’s not a family-friendly word 😈
Also, if you have any pictures of your pet you would like to share, please attach them. My readers love animals!
Here’s a little blurb about Beauty:
My kitty, Beauty Violeta, is 9 years old. I adopted her from the Toronto Animal Services when she was 2 years old. Yes, she’s a big big gal, but I like to say she’s big because she’s at the top of the food chain (ok she actually has a hypo-thyroid). She loves chicken dry

Thank You for the review and interview. This was a fun tour stop due to the interview bit. My husband is a bit aghast that our cat has hitched along for the ride on this tour, as well.
This looks like a super cute book! I love the artwork.
Yes Kerry Bell did outdo herself. It was much more than I had expected, especially the liveliness and the purple and green being the dominant colours.
cute
This sounds like a cute book for a child.
Thank You. It’s also in rhyming verse as well
I have been on this walk with my children and grandchildren! I look forward to sharing your book with my youngest grandson.
